Community Servings came into *Sherys’ life at a time when she and her family were struggling financially and physically. Sherys, a 43-year-old single mother of three, was diagnosed with breast cancer in August 2011.
She soon found that having cancer impacted all aspects of her life, including the ability to provide for her family. Sometimes during her treatments, Sherys wouldn’t be able to get up and was unsure of how her children were going to eat.
“There was a time in my life when I didn’t know how to ask for help, but I am so grateful that we found Community Servings,” said Sherys. “The meals take so much stress off and they have truly become a part of our lifestyle.”
